this is part of the Anne Murray Signature Series and is a combination of 2 previous released albums. This is a delight and a wonderful example of great music delivered in Anne's usual warm and relaxed manner. This series is a must for all of Anne's fans!!

All the songs on this cd are Anne Murray classics, but Moon Over Brooklyn must be the best of them all. It should be released as a single. The arrangement, production, the lyrics, melody and Anne Murray's voice on this cd is perfect.

'I'll always Love you' was the first Anne Murray album I bought back in 1979 and it has a special place in my heart for that very reason. It also contains my favourite Anne Murray song 'Broken Hearted me', which while a hit in America always suffers when compared to the other Randy Goodman song Anne recorded around that time 'You Needed Me'. Anne was pregnant again inbetween the release of these 2 albums with Dawn (check out Dawn Langstroth's album, she has a beautiful voice too!).

There are so many good tracks on the first album, including the title track, a brilliant cover of the Monkey's classic 'Daydream Believer' (Anne's is better though), 'Easy Love', a beautiful ballad, along with a cover of Jesse Winchester's 'Wintery Feeling'.

The 2nd album here 'Somebody's Waiting' suffered a bit because it came just after the birth of Dawn and Anne was well, a little distracted! The lead single 'Lucky Me' should have been a much bigger hit, it was a typical Anne ballad with all the right ingrediants. A Cover of another Beatles song was also released and well executed 'I'm happy Just To Dance With You'. The album highlight though is the sparse 'Moon Over Brooklyn' which is sheer perfection.

I have many Anne Murray CD's. I chose this to review first, simply because I'll always love you has always been my favorite album of hers. I like Somebody's waiting too - it's certainly not as bad as some of the other reviewers claim.
My favorite track is Wintery feeling. I don't think even Jeri Southern could have done better than Anne with this song. (For those unfamiliar with my tastes, I regard Jeri as the best singer of love songs in the history of popular music). I think Anne, being Canadian, sings this song with real understanding - she knows what winter is all about !!!!!
Anne picks up the tempo here and there, particularly with the Monkees classic Daydream believer, but it's the soft, romantic songs that are the reason to buy this album.
The second half of this twofer, the Somebody's waiting album, has it's own highlights. I particularly like I'm happy just to dance with you, a lesser-known Beatles gem. This album, like I'll always love you, is dominated by soft, romantic songs, with one or two songs that pick up the tempo for a bit of variation.
These two albums sit comfartably together on this CD. If I only had to keep one of Anne's CD's, it would be this one.
Some critics would like to see a bit more variation in Anne's repertoire. I don't agree. Anne has a particular niche in the market, and is one of the best at what she does. When I want to hear something different, I listen to somebody else. There are a few singers who can (and do) record in a variety of different styles, but they are not always more successful as a result.
